

Grupo Avante's environmental commitment goes beyond regulatory compliance. It translates into responsible management, impact prevention, and concrete actions to preserve natural resources, always in dialogue with the territories where we operate.

We participate in the Nascentes Subcommittee, linked to the Rio das Velhas Basin Committee, contributing to the strengthening of the National Water Resources Policy. Our involvement encourages participatory and decentralized management, focused on improving water quality and quantity in Grupo Avante's areas of influence.

Even without discharging effluents into waterways, we periodically monitor the quality of surface water surrounding our operational units. Samples follow criteria defined in environmental licensing and are collected by certified companies in accordance with current legislation.

Preventing and fighting forest fires is a priority due to environmental impacts and risks to people's health and safety. Grupo Avante works in partnership with local brigades, supporting prevention, awareness, and rapid response efforts.

We support the Volunteer Forest Brigade of the Environmental and Social Prevention Association (APAS), responsible for fire fighting and prevention, firebreak management, and educational campaigns. The project directly contributes to the UN's 2030 Agenda commitments.

We conduct continuous and integrated environmental monitoring covering water, air, noise, and wildlife as part of our responsible and preventive management. These actions ensure compliance with environmental authorizations and conditions, while supporting technical decisions that reduce impacts and strengthen protection of the territories where we operate. As a result of this ongoing commitment, Grupo Avante conserves significantly more area than it impacts, contributing to the preservation of thousands of hectares and reinforcing the balance between development, environmental responsibility, and care for the future.

For four years, we have conducted greenhouse gas emission inventories, strengthening awareness of our impacts and preparing to advance in mitigation and emission reduction efforts.

We periodically monitor noise levels in operations, assessing potential impacts on communities and local wildlife. Measures adopted include deactivating reverse alarms during nighttime, preventive signage, and internal awareness campaigns.

A project to strengthen selective waste collection in rural communities of Itabirito and Ouro Preto, benefiting approximately 2,200 residents. The initiative restructures collection points, optimizes routes, and supports waste picker associations, promoting social inclusion, circular economy, and environmental awareness.

The Water for the Future project promotes the recovery and conservation of springs and permanent preservation areas, strengthening water security in municipalities such as Ouro Preto, Rio Acima, Santa Bárbara, and Barão de Cocais. The initiative also encourages dialogue with rural producers, residents, and government authorities.

The Jaguara Florida project focuses on improving territorial quality through tree planting, garden installation, drainage area cleanup, and road maintenance, making the region more pleasant, sustainable, and attractive for tourism.

Environmental V-Day mobilizes employees in social, environmental, and educational actions, strengthening engagement, sense of belonging, and collective responsibility for the territory.
